Morley Arts Festival

The Brief

I am a big fan of arts events and the inspiration and creativity they encourage so was pleased when the organisers of Morley Arts Festival asked me to design their 2016 programme and promotional material.

They wanted a vivid, almost crude looking aesthetic inspired by the work of New York based graffiti and pop artist Keith Haring who makes use of brightly coloured shapes with bold outlines.

The Solution

I created the front cover and poster design to be loud and eye-catching, hiding images related to events held during the festival within the coloured shapes.

I kept the inner pages much simpler to provide some balance to this, including on them full bleed pages of the more established acts. The booklet came out at a hefty forty four pages in the end and was a handy A6 size to fit easily into attendees bags.
